I’ll never forget the day I skipped everything—except time with God.

Apr 19, 2025

It was one of those days. You probably know the kind.

My to-do list was staring me down like a heavyweight opponent. As an entrepreneur, husband, and provider, I felt the pressure. The kind of pressure that says, "You can’t afford to fall behind." I had deadlines. Clients. Responsibilities. Things that couldn’t slip through the cracks.

I sat at my desk and thought, "Maybe I’ll just skip my quiet time today. God will understand."

I’d done it before. I mean, I had work to do, right?

But this time… something stopped me.

There was this quiet but undeniable conviction in my spirit:

"Don’t skip time with Me."

So I listened.

I grabbed my Bible. My journal. A pen. And I sat down—not to check off a spiritual box, but to be with my Father.

It wasn’t easy at first. My mind kept drifting back to my tasks, my inbox, my schedule. But little by little, the anxiety lifted and I got swept into the presence of God.

I read. I prayed. I listened. I journaled.

And then I glanced at the clock.

Six hours.

Six full hours had gone by in what felt like minutes.

Suddenly, that anxious rush kicked back in—

"I’ve wasted the whole day! I still have work to do!"

But then came the peace. Deep, unshakable peace.

So I sat down to begin working.

And something remarkable happened: In 90 minutes, I got everything done.

Every task. Every item. Every call. Finished.

There was no grind. No hustle. Just grace. Clarity. Flow.

God had redeemed the time.

He taught me something that day: I can always choose to spend time with Him—and He’ll take care of the rest.

But here’s what breaks my heart…

This is usually the first thing entrepreneurs sacrifice.

We say we don’t have time.

But those same entrepreneurs will pay thousands to sit under a guru for three days. They’ll put their family and business on hold to go to a mastermind. They’ll move mountains to get in the room with someone they believe can help them succeed.

And don’t get me wrong—mentors, coaches, and events can be amazing. God even uses those people to speak into our lives.

But maybe he has to… Because we don’t go to Him first.

If you’re reading this, I want you to know something:

The same God who created the universe, who holds time in His hands, and who knows the beginning from the end—He’s inviting you to meet with Him.

You don’t have to grind for revelation. You don’t have to earn access. You don’t need a guru to reach Him.

He’s already here. Waiting. Willing. Ready.

And when you put Him first, you’ll discover what I did:

He redeems time.

You won’t fall behind. You won’t miss out. And you’ll never regret the time you give to Him.

So maybe today, just for a moment, close the laptop. Turn off the noise. Pick up your Bible.

And sit with the One who already knows what’s ahead.

He’s not just a good use of your time. He’s the source of it.

If this resonates with you, would you do me a favor?

Share this with someone. Someone who might be overwhelmed. Someone who might be running on empty. Someone who needs to be reminded that God still meets us when we stop.

Let’s point people back to the One who never runs out.

Because the time you give to Him…
He gives back in ways hustle never could.
